Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano emitted strong eruptions Wednesday night, which continued through Thursday, with frequent explosions ejecting incandescent bombs, creating gas and ash clouds ascending to 25,000 feet, with volcanic earthquakes and magma.

A strong eruption occurred on Friday at 19:00 GMT. American, Alaska and United Airlines cancelled flights in and out of Mexico City, as a precaution.

Popocatepetl Volcano in Mexico Erupts

Popocatepetl volcano, 70 km (43 miles) from Mexico City.
Mexico:  Scientists have recorded volcanic activity activity since Tuesday from the Popocatepetl volcano and raised the alert level from "yellow-phase 2" to "yellow-phase 3" on Thursday.  The next alert level is "red alert" and if the alert level is raised, evacuations will begin.  Schools have been closed in the area, as it exhaled steam, gas and ash 41 times as of Thursday, according to the National Center for Disaster Prevention...
